Crown MA2400 Vs QSC GX7
« on: June 23, 2011, 03:40:37 PM »

I have always used the MA 2400 on my subs (2 8ohm 35hz on each channel) mostly rock n roll stuff. I just picked up a used QSC G7. it was going cheap! This is my first experience with one of these supper light power switching amps.  It's so light I don't want to trust it. Am I living in the past??

Yes and no. The GX is an entry level amp while the Crown MA is/was a touring quality amp so you won't get the same "performance" from the QSC.. meaning it won't handle 2ohm loads and probably won't do that well on questionable AC circuits. But at 8 or 4ohms per channel it'll crank out the power and there's no reason to think it won't be reliable.

Well that makes me feel better.  I never go to 2 ohms So I gues Im safe.
My back sure does like the lighter weight.
Thanks!
