RCF aquires EAW
« on: September 06, 2018, 02:29:05 PM »

A dealer here in town told me this last week.
So it is true.
Looks like a win win to me.

Whitinsville, MA (September 4, 2018)—Italian pro-audio conglomerate RCF Group has acquired Eastern Acoustic Works from Loud Audio. Ironically, the deal comes some 15 years after RCF itself was divested by Loud Technologies, an earlier iteration of Loud Audio, in December, 2003.

Saw the PSW article the other day. Will be interesting to see what comes out of it for EAW. They already source a bunch of their drivers from RCF, I wonder if we'll see EAW tech (Adaptive arrays, OptiLogic, RADIUS, etc) start to creep into the RCF catalog. Definitely seems like a win to have two heavy hitters like this working together.

Glad to see them gone from Loud, but not too happy to see them go to RCF.

I wish them all the best.

Retuned a KF850-installation today, nearly on the day 10 years since I installed it. Still sounds good, no major faults. A couple of pulled speakons, but all the speakers still performed to spec. Not all installations have aged this well over the years.

I believe this was on of the latest, if not the final KF850-installation in Northern Europe. I hope EAW will continue to build speakers of this quality.
