Faulty UR2
« on: August 07, 2018, 08:47:56 AM »

Hello

I've got a UR2, part of an 8 unit system purchased 2 years ago, which has an intermittant fault.

After working normally for any amount of time, the audio will fade quickly, then bounce back up.  This will happen for about 5 or 10 minutes, afterwhich it will revert to normal operation.

The receiver display shows full RF and the correct battery information, and the RF doesn't drop (neither does it sound like this).

This issue has occurred 3 times in the past 24 months, the first within 6 weeks of purchase, the second after 6 months.  After the second incident, the transmitter and a suspected 4D+ were sent back to Shure, but they were unable to find anything.

It's definitely the hand held, and it's almost certainly audio and not RF.

The only thing I can think is the compander circuit might be faulty.

Has anyone else experienced a similar issue?

Thanks
