Thanks for the review Corey!
And thanks all for the comments.

I'm currently working on incorporating some of the suggestions from my Beta-ites.
I'll probably have a quick Beta2 test then do a short production run, maybe 25 sets and see how it goes.

One of my compatriots has asked about using one with his KLA 2-box dash array.
I will be looking onto making an adapter to fit those and perhaps others of their ilk (non perpendicular bottoms).

It would be helpful to have degree markers at the various interlocks.  It would save counting steps and wondering if you counted both side the same.
Perhaps even angle references on the collar to work with a marked stand.

David, there are degree markers at each angle setting.

They've arrived!

What seems to have been missed out is that these really are a work of art. Well done, Dave.

I've thrown one of my main PA speakers (similar in format to a JTR 3TX - 2x10" + HF) on there and found the 12-degree angle slightly more tippy than I'd like, but keeping to 6-8 degrees works really nicely.
Lots of speakers around here to try (8" and 12" coaxials, 12"+HF standard layout, 6.5" 2-way) and I'll report back.

Cheers,
Chris

Dave,  At what height did you optimize the COG?

Chris, what is the COG height for your dual 10's?  Are you implying that yours are DIY?  Perhaps you placed the pole cup a little too far back?

Says here the it's optimised for a COG 12" above the pivot.
My tops are DIY, but the JTR 3TX are the closest commercial cabinet I've found. Mine are a little shorter in height as I've done something different for the bass reflex ports. The COG is probably more like 16" above the pivot.

The target speaker for the Angler is a 1x12 or 1x15.
A smaller speaker's CG will be below the pivot center, but the lower weight should make stability not an issue.
A 2x10 , 2x12 or 2x15 is not a good candidate for this product, as it will get tippy past a few degrees tilt.
To go to a taller CG would require a larger device, probably adding 1 1/2" to the length and require everything to be beefed up to accommodate the extra weight.

I watched Corey's video (nice review) and saw his SM80's on them. Nice design and simple to use.

These are just what I need. When you're ready to sell them, put me down for a pair, please.
