Looking for suggestions for an amp.  Stereo, 500 Watts per side.  Ability for one channel to be hi z and one to be low z.

Having issues with Crown CDI1000s and trying to find a new amp for installs.

Mostly interested in QSC’s, but not partial to them.

Most all 2 channel amps are identical channels.

That may have been the case 10 years ago... but this can be done on a whole bunch of install amps these days.

I presume pro live sound application. He didn’t describe his need and has not answered my question.

My guess is that the OP is looking for an amp that can handle both PA speakers and paging/installed systems (70V, etc.).

To the OP: the Drivecore series is pretty nice and meets your specs; the Atlas DPA series looks interesting, too.

I try not to answer questions that weren't asked. A common newbie amplifier question is about loading two channels of a stereo amp differently. Even thought the amp channels may be identical, they do not care how they are loaded as long as both are within design specifications.

Buy the heaviest oldest used power amps you can find... you will be doing some old sound men a favor (because they can then buy new lightweight cheaper ones).

I picked up an old SUNN amp at a yard sale once that had to use a 1/4"  in and an XLR in to work. It was weird and it weighted about 65lbs. The best part was that it was noisy and sounded like crap. But it was only like $5 or $10.

Sorry guys, been a busy past couple of days. 

These are for professional install, not live sound.  Crown CDI1000s have been getting hot and burning out power supplies when they are in an always on install.  (Restaurants, churches with Caroline/bell systems, other businesses).  Some of these amps are using one channel for a 70v Line and one channel for an 8ohm Line.  Different inputs, different outputs. 

I’m just looking for an amp similar to that one, and the Drivecore Line might be the best for it.
