Correct, no FB for me... and thanks for the heads up, Jay!

That’s good news!  I like to play various stuff through my PA for testing and recently have been using Hot Razors as a test track!

They had a horn section sometimes when they played live called the Crack Pack Horns.

On a side note, Bobby Hird and I were together when the news of Stevie Ray Vaughn’s death came over the radio. Sad day.

I'm so old, when I was doing FOH for Tommy Dorsey, to balance out the horn section I would slide their chairs downstage and upstage to mix!

One of the best live bands I've ever heard, for sure.

Speaking of heard, it's "Bobby Hird."  :D

But you're still on MySpace, right?!?

Tongue noted in cheek....

Nope, I've never signed up for any of the social media stuff.  I figured out if it's free, I'm the product.  I'd ditch gmail if it weren't for how widely spread the address is.

I've also opted out of every google setting that tracks, lists, etc.  To the extent that I can, I try to minimize my online footprint.  I block most javascript from running in Firefox.  Folks who've never used a script blocker (I use NoScript) will be amazed at how many scripts that track you are involved in most web pages, and all of them serve up some bit of content (including clear pixel jpg/gifs, used to track you).

My goal is security and to the extent I can control it, privacy.

Now back to CTS...

My website does NOT track users. The closest I get to ANY sort of scripting is Google Analytics and a couple of PHP based forms for contact/quote requests. Not only do I not display content based on previous actions, I don't even know how to code that.... lol.

[Edit to clarify: My company has no code to identify users based on any trackable attributes. Google Analytics does track a user on a session basis, but I do not collect that data. I mean, I think it's in GA, but I've not been on that site in a year or more... haha. I can't tell you, for example, how many people visit my site from, say, a mobile device, on a weekly basis.]

I keep getting people telling me that I NEED FACEBOOK TO MARKET MY BUSINESS! First of all, no, no, no I don't - I believe in building relationships the old fashioned way (is that why I am single still?!?). Second, this business is way too much word-of-mouth- whereas a nice web presence is amusing, it's not a make-it-or-break-it situation for the business.

Re security, It's amazing how many people scream about "OMG Facebook SOLD MY DATA!" and don't realise that the company offering you a FREE service needs to make money somewhere...

/topic swerve and rant

Unfortunately, I think the newer and coming generations of humans have a very different view of privacy.
Their lives are online for all to see, so what's the big deal about yet more info out there.
Personally, I hate it.  I'm not a Luddite (been using computers since XTs, my mom had an Osborne), I'm just anti-social.
The other day I was looking at sun shades, and now all the pop up ads are about sun shades.  !@?$$#@!
