Yeah I think I'll go with one DXR and save up for possibly another. I'm really interested in the 10", as I read it is the best sounding with guitar. Plus I'd rather keep the weight down.

Would a 10" top and 12" sub be enough? Or should I go bigger with the sub? I'm going to need a dolly regardless, but I do have to be able to load and unload into my car (tiny 2000 civic). The sub on the Turbosound fit into my car but anything much bigger might be an issue.

So my requirements for the sub are:

- under $600
- under 80lbs (preferably closer to 50lbs)
- size needs to fit into my tiny sedan

Lol any suggestions?
I'd probably just get the DXR8 or K8. Unless you want a monitor cut(K8.2), the 8' are quite impressive.  Even clean original K8 can be found inexpensively. I like the wider coverage myself. Last night I played with my group using the K8s over a single Yamaha DXS12 sub. A fantastic system. I play feet kick & snare too, while singing, playing bass or acoustic guitar same time. if weight and size was a huge issue, I'd look at the EV Zxa1 sub, which is quite nice. The yamaha is really strong but bigger, made of substantial wood and still around 70 lbs. The EV is under 50 lbs.

Whatever sub you get, put wheels on it and it becomes your dolly.

I run iQ8's all the time over subs.  There are no holes in lower midrange at all at reasonable levels.

For the kind of PA desired, and the size of the car, I think a 12" sub will be just fine. Just stay away from the Alto. The EV ELX12 sub is nice too, and within the parameters set. Sometimes we don't need to apply the typical guidelines and colloquial idioms to every situation.

Forgot about those. I sure love carrying two 29lb mains that handle things perfectly

I think the IP2000 should be enough to do the job and it certainly has enough coverage. It may be cutting close in potential SPL in louder venues such as bars, but it should be perfect for restaurants, wineries and more intimate places. If you can get 80db to the last seat in the house, you shoudl be good. I know a single sound source will sound better, so it is just a mater of working with the product to get to a goal. Sound is subjective, so don't try re-designing a wheel. Realize its strengths and weaknesses and work with it from there. Pretty much as long as the people can hear and understand the performance, they will be happy. If it is simply that it truly sounds like crap and you can't get the needed SPL, then yeah, perhaps you need to get another product. I just think what you have should work fine though.

I fit my whole open mic rig on a Rock-n-Roller cart, including 2 iQ8, an iQ15b, a bass amp, a guitar amp, mixer, mic stands...

It's amazing what these little speakers can do.

Yeah, I know I'm going to have to sacrifice something. I'd say price is my number 1 factor.

After doing a bunch of research of somewhat narrowed down some sub choices. Please let me know if I missed one. Price is #1 factor, so please don't suggest anything over $650.

Basically I'm looking for a single 12" sub to pair with a single DXR10. Here are my requirements:

- $650 or less
- 80lbs or less (ideally close to 50lbs)
- small enough to fit in my dinky civic sedan

Here's the subs I'm found that mostly fit those constraints...

RCF 702-AS
$650, 40lbs, (+/-3) 40hz-120hz

EV ELX200-12SP
$550, 42lbs, (-10)41hz-165hz

Alto TS212S
$400, 45lbs, (-10)42hz-100hz

EV ZXA1
$500, 46lbs, (-10)44hz-118hz

iNSPIRE iP12B
$500, 49lbs, (-10)38hz-200hz

Samson Auro D1200
$500, 53lbs (+/-3) 45hz-200hz

Alto TS215S
$500, 62 lbs (-10)35hz-95hz (I figured I'd throw a 15" in there)

DXS12
$430, 72lbs, (-10)47hz-160hz

Are there any of these that I should not even consider?
Any that won't play nice with a DXR10?
Any one of these that standout?

I don't know if it will fit in your Civic with your other stuff and it weighs more, but the Yammy DXS12 is part of the "Family" and is pretty much guaranteed to happily work and play nice with the DXR..

The thread about "HP filter in tops or bottoms" elsewhere in the Lounge demonstrates the potential difficulties with mixing brands.  Oh, and the price meets your objective.

That all said, I suggest you audition any potential purchase items or buy from a dealer with generous return privileges.
