extender for rfvenue explorer
« on: May 15, 2018, 12:20:57 AM »

curious if anyone has used a usb extender with the explorer rack unit ideally something that is networkable

for certain shows it would be nice to remote the unit in the rack near receivers and be able to use software over a cat5, or fiber at a remote location

USB over Cat5e extenders work fine. Get whatever you want from Amazon. I've used the 7$ ones with good success.

There is also USB over IP devices you can get. Try the search, I think Scott Holtzman has experience with them. I don't know which are good and reasonably priced.

I don't use commercial extenders.  There is an app for the Raspberry Pi that works great.  Then you load an app on the PC end and are ready to go.
