Had a show where everything was clear...show was to start wireless failed.....venue switched on their wireless intercom system.    Had to hold show and  reassign our freq.

It should be noted however that the RF power you utilize should be set accordingly for the distance between the mic and the receiver. The goal is to use the lowest amount of RF power possible for any given distance.

Along with coax, passive splitter and filter losses, and RF noise floor.

There is some math involved, but typically anything between 50' - 100' only needs about 10mw of RF power. After that, you can start cranking it up if you are noticing weak signals.

Again, one needs to also account for RF noise floor and losses due to coax, and inline passives.

Factoring in house (venue) RF operations is an integral part of RF coordination for the show.

Don, you've been in the audio trench, too, and have seen plenty of needless additional gain used at AF freqs.  Just saying that bad habit carry over seems inevitable...
