QLX-D1 Transmitter firmware issue
« on: April 24, 2018, 06:45:51 PM »

Hi All, I need some help. Called Shure and after 20+ minutes on hold with customer service got disconnected sooo, thought I would put the issue here.

Tried to upgrade the firmware in the receiver  (which was successful) then to the Body Pack Transmitter. The 1st attempt bombed out. Tried it again now the receiver has an Error 008 (might be 007) code and no frequencies listed . Just dashes and Wil not allow me to try the firmware upgrade again.

Any suggestions? Or maybe How to do a default reset for the Body Pack?

Any help appreciated!

Thanks,  Bill

That's a trip back to Shure. A local company I work with had a QLXD do that as well- sounds like theirs was more random (not as a result of a FW update) but multiple tries and it doesn't work. AFAIK they're sending it back to Shure for repair. (Or it went back as a part of their 600MHz trade in program... haha)

I bricked a ULX-D bodypack transmitter and had to downgrade the firmware on the receiver, then could recover the bodypack via firmware re-flash, then re-updated receiver and bodypack. It took a few minutes, but it didn't have to go back to shure... The hardest part for me was the fact that I had a very low internet signal while trying to figure out what to do, and also got disconnected from Shure during the support call...

I've had the same experience with a ULX-D belt pack. Sometimes you have to go backwards before you go forwards. At the time Shure tech support was very helpful and talked me through the issue.

I've only had this trouble with ULX-D, but the key was to reload the original firmware possibly several times and then try the newer stuff.  I don't know if this applies to QLX-D, but on ULX-D if there's an asterick next to the firmware version in the Update Utility it means that the existing firmware has some corruption and should be reloaded with the same version.
