I remember when TC announced that these were being discontinued, used prices went through the roof.  And some folks that toured with them started leaving them at home rather than risk it.

Very nice Helge.

Steve, I used to own three Ross compressors. Two have been stolen, the last one stays at home.

Doesn't look useful to the live crowd.  It looks like it's just a dedicated controller for the plugin.  No audio I/O.

Looks useful to me - I sure miss having the front panel of an FX processor to tweak in-the-moment, compared to the one in the console. Even a touchscreen takes some precision when using; physical buttons, knobs, etc. are easier for me when it comes to muscle memory.

I've known people who used the sample size in a 2290 to "fly in" things.  When it's in a rack, the controller is handy.

A big deal with the 2290 was the actual "feeling" in the Learn button.

Never been able to tap a delay "just right" after the 2290 escaped from FOH. I really hope that this controller can replicate this.

Btw: The controller works as licence dongle for the plugin, smart move.

Music seem to be hitting it right out of the park at the moment. Their synths esp. are a runaway success.
