X32 Mute Group Question
« on: April 15, 2018, 05:36:34 PM »

Trying to create a mute group setup on a paralleled channel.  Scenario: if I have channel 20 for vocals and feed 20 into channel 21 I want to be able to mute channel 21 only in a mute group. Is this possible?  Tried it on the fly last night at a show and it did not work. At one point was able to mute but not unmute channel 21?

Yes.  That should work.  You're muting the channel, not the input.

Yes, this will work.  I parallel inputs for vocal sends in monitors and have separate mute groups for FOH channels and monitors.

As Art said, the mute comes after the input tap.

Hit the “MUTE GRP” button to the right of the screen (it should be the 7th button down) and it will light up. This puts the X32 into Mute group setup mode. Then press and hold the Mute group master button for the mute group you want to assign and to see what is assigned to that button. The SEL buttons on each channel will light to show you which ones are assigned. Press the SEL buttons to set a channel or unset a channel to that mute group master. When done press the “MUTE GRP” button next to the screen again to get out of that setup mode.

This assumes that the 2 channels you are referring to aren't linked.

Figured out my dilemma. I have setup many mute groups over the life of owning the console. The issue is when you have those certain channels already assigned to another mute group. Don’t double up channels in two mute groups is the lesson here. Always look at the simple things first.
