DBX user forum shutting down
« on: April 10, 2018, 01:59:05 PM »

I asked a "chat tech" if an archive would be made available.  He did not know.  The Samsung buyout is not going well for users, thus far.

Sadly, I'm not surprised. I can't recall which specific area of the forum it was in, but the entire area was full of spambot posts for fake Gucci, Fendi, Nike, etc..

There were some good bits of info in that forum; I hope they (or someone) will maintain them.

DBX is an outboard-kinda-company selling in an inboard-kinda-decade.

And under Harman, perhaps redundant with BSS as separate companies.  The Crown microphones were assigned to AKG...

The consolidation of Harman Pro Audio group to fewer geographic locations and relocation of most manufacturing to Mexico has been underway since 2006.  If anyone is interested, get the Harman International Annual Reports for 2005-2015.  Eventually the corporate HQ will be in CT, not CA, IIRC.

Conceptually there's a lot more going on when it comes to competing on a global scale and where ones home country represents a fraction of the total market.

I don't think I'd used the dbx forums although I'd used the JBL VerTec owners forums.  No recent traffic other than spam.  Makes me think Harman had 1 person handling forums for all brands and the job was surplussed, nobody had the passwords... and there they sat.

I considered that, but usually it's hit or miss for me.

But it works! I'm surprised. Oct 23rd is the date I picked.

I'll try and download it tonight and see about hosting it on Scott's servers ;) haha.
