Super noob - mix colors with Chauvet 4 Bar Tri
« on: March 29, 2018, 09:33:18 AM »

Just purchased 2 Chauvet 4 Bars, I read the manual but didn't see it addressed.

I want to mix the colors on one bar, so 2 Red lights and 2 Yellow, or 2 Blue and 2 Green etc.

Can that be done, then "saved" so it can be pulled up with the foot controller?

Only with a DMX controller. You can’t do that with the footswitch that comes with it. You can use an Obey 40 controller with a MIDI footswitch instead.

As above, it can't be done :(
I find this so annoying! I often take one 4 bar to an acoustic show (wine bar etc.) and would like to mix colours, but I end up just having a single static colour.
I don't want the extra cables and setup effort of having dmx control at these shows, so I don't let it bother me too much.

I use a DMX controller and Midi Foot pedal.  However, I did toy with the notion of rewiring two of the cables that go to the individual lights.  I believe these are 4 pin connectors, three of the four would have to be to each of the three LED colors.  Reverse two of these on two of the four pars and you would have two colors at a time.  I didnt end up doing it since they look relatively fragile but it should work.

It's probably good you didn't do that.  One of those pins is data to the controller in the element.
