Thanks, guys. Sometimes it seems like people just like to post without reading the previous replies.

I've no doubt that following that link and setting things up on the CL5 as described in that document will work.

I've got a friend in town doing a show right now that i think is running redundant CL5s with backup analog as a third redundancy.  Since i just saw this thread, i'm now super curious to find out exactly how they implemented all of that.  If/when i pry the super secret info out of him, i'll be sure to report back....

Brian, are you in Houston?

Occasionally.  But not this week.  😀

Crazy. The buddy of mine that was dealing with this show ended up with exactly that configuration. 2 CL5's with redundant snakes, plus a backup analog board.

Plus 4 big LED screens to boot.

For one guy to talk for a little while.....

Does this actually set up a fully redundant system? Where the two console are mirrored together and moving a fader on one moves it on the other? Like would happen on lighting consoles? Or is it more of just an expanded cascade function?

The Zuckerberg traveling circus...  I hope the production was adequate when he was in front of the Congressional committee....

With the Midi setup described above, yes it does. Move a knob here and it will move over there. It takes 2 midi cables to send and recieve on each desk, and some menu setup, but it seemed fairly straight forward. Note: I haven't done it, but I did stay in a Holiday Inn Express last night.....

Nope. It was His Highness The Prince Aga Khan.

They couldn't tell me who it was beforehand, but the show is done now.....

That is an amusing coincidence, as i've never seen that kind of redundancy at the local show production level.
