Both "shapes" were enabled.

The Shape 1/2 button is either/or and the in/out button enables whichever shape is selected, so you can't have both preshapes enabled, unless I misunderstood you?
Shape 1 has boost centred at 50Hz and 2k with cut at 500Hz, Shape 2 has the centres moved up to 100Hz, 650Hz and 3kHz IIRC.

Kinda feeling sorry for the poor bass amp, now. I did notice there was a blinky red light lit up whenever he was playing. Reviewing the pictures, that's "Overload".
Chris

A lot of Trace users seem to think that's more like a "signal present" indicator rather than, as labelled, peak/overload.
Having used a Trace bass amp in the past, I do recall that the peak LED appears to be set somewhat conservatively - there's certainly a small margin of headroom between the indication and any actual audible clipping.
I think it's maybe also a bit like the subset of Midas analogue users who appear to feel that it doesn't sound like a Midas if you're not getting a tiny hint of preamp overload.

Cheers,
David.

I'm genuinely amazed at how well this little mic picks everything up. Take the drum parts of Springsteen's Jersey Girl, for example.

Hey hey hey....don't pin that awful song on Springsteen!  That's Rick Springfield.
I'm not a Springsteen fanatic, but he doesn't deserve that...lol.

(sorry, I play that song every gig and a small piece of my soul is destroyed)

I thought Tom Waits wrote the song. ??

Edit: I'm guessing you're thinking of Jessie's Girl.

Hey David,

Looks like you're right - I've just double-checked the photo. I thought it was like my old Laney bass where there was Shape 1, Shape 2, and you could have one, the other, or both.

For what it's worth, the red light was on solidly whenever he hit a note. That might be a Trace Elliot thing, but I haven't played around with one enough to find out.

Thanks for the info.

Just an update, E902 is the Mic of the month for April.

Sennheiser's Evolution series mic promotions are documented here:

http://forums.prosoundweb.com/index.php/topic,166955.msg1539600.html#msg1539600

As is the fact that the e902's are also backordered.

Still waiting for my e904's (and e902),

Dave

July's mic of the month is the e604 for $99.  Not quite as good of a deal, but still a good price.

My e904s finally arrived last week.  Wish I'd bought one more :(

The three pack is $2.95 more expensive over purchasing three individuals, odd.

Not as odd as the e604s being on offer for the same price as the e904s were - a moment for some people to kick themselves if they missed out!
