Opinion on better line array system for replacement install
« on: February 12, 2018, 10:22:02 AM »

Good morning. We are planning on installing a new PA system in our main worship center and have received three different quotes. I am looking for either personal or professional opinions on the better of these systems. Here's what we are looking at:

QSC WL3082
d&b line array with Yi8 and Yi12 speakers
RCF HDL 6-A

Thanks, Brian

To tag to what Ray said, why would you want an opinion when sound is physics and can be objective?

The only part of sound that is subjective is the part in the brain that says whether it sounds good or not.

---

Get a consultant [preferably] or post the quotes up with dimensions & pics and let us do some analysis on the project.

Tough to give an opinion when you don't know the room the system is going in. Unless you're designing the room around the speakers.
Wait, that's a reoccurring dream I have. :)

Also, does it have to be a line array and are your consultants only suggesting brands that they carry?

I work in a factory and I need some tools.  Should I buy brand A, D, or X.  By the way, I'm not telling you anything about what we produce or need the tools for.  Loudspeakers are really audio tools.  Not meaning this so much as sarcasm but as an example.  Need more information, and with an investment as expensive as some of the systems presented, go forward carefully.  I believe all three of these companies will assist you with recommendations if you can give them enough information to input into their EASE systems.
