Debbie,  The irony is that ALL the info on this site is FREE.  :o
Free just the same as broadcast TV was free... (i.e. watching commercials pays for it).

Actually some priceless info gathered together on this site.

Funny how "priceless" & "worthless" technically mean the same thing, but are used as opposites.  ;)

My $0.02 -

One of my first posts was on how to upgrade the drivers in my JRX115 speakers. I got better answers as to "don't bother" and should have listened, but didn't know what to ask at the time ("how do I get better sound quality").

Free advice forums are great and the wealth of knowledge is great. I'd rather have experts asking why I am trying to do something and offer recommendations than just the answer, but I'm also a total newbie and am open to listening to others; if it works for me, great; if not, I still appreciate that someone took the time to respond.

I do find the level of helpfulness here far better than some other forums.

What do you mean by TMI?
There are 62 definitions for this acronym. Please be specific.

As I read it in this thread, TMI is Too Much Information. As in the poster provided too much unrelated and unnecessary information.

In other news...

I remember a time when someone would be happy to get free information. This without regard for whether they needed it. They would happily take the information and apply it if they needed it and discard it if they didn't need it. I still don't understand the fixation with the bitching about it.

If it doesn't apply, just throw it away. No need to get butt-hurt about it, just roll on eighteen wheeler, roll on.

That was an attempt at being sarcastic.

That was an attempt at being sarcastic.

Well, it doesn't exactly always come across as intended in a text based format. As this is a world-wide format, sometimes people who are not familiar with US English are confused by the over use of acronyms.

Besides, one can never have "too much information"... one just needs to sort the wheat from the chaff when presented with any information. This is not only true on this forum, but everywhere.

A clear and concise question is posed with information to clarify the question and yet, most responses do not directly address that question.

It's not the Hokey-Pokey (Credit to Jimmy Buffet), it is GTTP.

I only have to be insulted once. Next time don't ask because I won't answer. Conversation promotes learning and is like walking through a field of flowers. You may not need all those flowers, but eventually you'll pick one or two because they do something for you or to you. And why would anyone piss and moan about free help. Beyond me to answer that.
