Let me know how it goes over.  This is the second time i've heard of it being used in as many days and i'm really excited to see how it plays out in the field.

I talked to the monitor engineer about it. He is generating 30+ stems on the SD7 console which he sends to the Klang. The band then mix their own ears on iPads that are networked to the Klang via Lightning to USB cables. They do not have the sensors that mount on the IEM molds that sense your position on the stage, so are not using that feature. The Roots do not move around the stage on this show.

iPad controlled monitor mixes for musicians is a game changer by itself.  In some ways this is an example of things moving UP the market rather than trickling down, as the X32 ushered in the "everybody mix their monitors from an iPad" concept.

The Klang's ability to place things forward and backward as well as left and right is also an amazing thing.

There's a Klang rig in town now that i need to go play with.  I'm especially interested in seeing how they implement head tracking without it getting to be some kind of weird VR headset looking thing.

My understanding from Kenny the Roots monitor mixer is there are small sensors that attach to the IEM molds. We did not have them on Sunday's show, but the show went well.

I wouldn't mind being a fly on that wall if there's availability.
