Safety note on crew dining
« on: January 22, 2018, 08:39:16 PM »

Don't take your crew to the BYOB Chinese Buffet.  I think that poor SoB"s food cost are going to be off a month and he has to haul a case of beer bottles to the trash.

He should at least charge a "corkage" (capage) fee!

That's not what I thought it was going to be. Back in the day my boss at the engineering company got nervous about all the engineers going out to the same restaurant for lunch prior to a big product release. He wanted us at least to order different dishes. -F

One job my dad had at an ISP (a startup, mind you), him and the other network engineers would always go out for lunch on Fridays. To the bank. To cash their paychecks. So they knew they'd at least have the cash. Not sure how they decided who got to cash theirs last......

I had days like that before I was rich and famous.

Thankfully I paid a little quicker.  What did Spock say weeks are like hours?

"Hours would seem like Days" I think was the line....
I know it was days. not weeks. I can check the order tonight. (if someone else doesn't correct us first)
Chris.

You always have to do the right thing, but that's not enough. You have a job where people have to trust you. You have to LOOK like you're doing the right thing.

I've heard that airline pilots are required to have separate meals.

Personally, I try to avoid dining at buffet restaurants anymore. The last few times I've done that (the last time was probably 15 years ago), I've felt sick afterwards.

Around where I live, most Chinese restaurants are filthy dives, so I avoid them, too. There is ONE Chinese restaurant that I'll eat at; the place appears to have high standards of quality and cleanliness. (That's the Lucky Dragon in Kalama, Washington. Kalama's a small town with seemingly nothing going for it; the last place you'd expect to find a quality restaurant.)

And seconds seem like years when you just ate some bad seafood and the restroom is more than three feet away.
