New Dante AVIO Adapters

The analog ins/outs are just what I needed. And they also come in USB and AES. Haven't seen pricing yet but the email blurb I got hinted at $125.00.

Wonder if the USB adapter needs additional software purchase or whether it's included.

These look cool.  I think i'll be finding a way to put a few in my traveling toolkit as i am increasingly using Dante as the backbone of ALL of my audio paths, including Comms....

I'm *really* excited to get my hands on the USB ones.  I'd love to just drop a bunch of those in Video World on corporate gigs, named for whatever machine they're attached to.

Sounds a lot like the USB one is class compliant so should make it a great way to interface iPads (for Go Button / music playback) into dante world too!

i did see that these will require PoE (Power over Ethernet) capable switches - or use a PoE injector

Looks like Audinate took a cue from Amphenol.

Still takes an estimated $500 to get a stereo pair from one end of the cat5 cable to the other. Also with the usb ones you will have the same problems regarding latency and buffer settings as with other usb soundcards, so it won't be exactly plug and play, even if class compliant.

I find the AES3 dongle the most interesting. 2 ch up and 2 ch down, if the price is right, it would make a cheap X32/M32 to dante bridge, with the possibility for an x-live recording card ;)

I am also kind of curious how clocking is done.

It's a digital distribution system, so the analog will be line level, where +18dBu (analog) equals 0dBfs (digital), same as desks and remote boxes. What goes in at one side comes out the same on the other side. Use the gain control and faders of your receiving mixer, or the output level control of your sending source to control the volume.
