Happy 2018 - don't end up like this guy
« on: January 04, 2018, 05:14:49 PM »

I stumbled across this post again: http://forums.prosoundweb.com/index.php/topic,155930.msg1431986.html#msg1431986 which is worth a look for anyone who uses any distro equipment larger than an extension cord.  Warning - this is a graphic picture.

This person disconnected a camlok connector while power was still flowing through it.

Bad sound won't kill you, but misunderstood electricity can easily kill you.  It's worth your time to go to an ETCP power class.

Happy New Year; may you survive all of it.

I'm trying to recall where I got that picture, but there was no location other than it was in the USA, and no date.  IIRC the injured worker was a either a stage hand or touring person and the circuit was still hot and under load.

Wish I had more info for you, TJ.

TJ-

And then the thread on Control Booth about pulling dimmers out of a live rack... I had to post this pic there, too.

After 25 years in this biz i've gotten cavalier about a number of things, often to my detriment.  But i still respect Power.  Those mistakes actually Hurt Hurt.  I don't need that kind of pain....
