Snow is started. White everywhere. At least no wind to speak of. Bobcat is tarped.
Cleanup in the morning for guests arriving starting at 11am for a Family party.

JR, you got snow down there I read?
Debbie, how are you doing.

Not too bad Bob - thanks for asking... snow fell yesterday and is doing so right now but hasn't settled so far. Also, temperatures didn't get below 35 last night so we played the show last night without fear of freezing - about 45 minutes away.
However, it is not only a few degrees cooler where tonight's show is located PLUS it gets down to 25 tonight so bets are off......

stay safe!!!

We have 3 inches already here in the NYC area.  Heavy earlier this AM but seems to be lighting up.  Temps in mid-30's and remain until Wed where it's finally going to hit in the teens.  Just winterized my bike last weekend and no shows this weekend so timing is good.  Still much better than those suffering on the West Coast from the fires...

We got 8" at my house outside of Atlanta.

IT was one of the biggest snowfalls for this area on record.

The streets are all clear now, because the temps did not get very low.

LOTS of broken branches, it was a heavy wet snow.  Great for snowballs and snowmen.

Going on week two of heavy fog, daily highs and lows basically equal at about 20 degrees F, dead calm, no snow, but I shoveled the inch or so of built-up fog-snow-like fall-out substance off the walk-ways here today.  Last year by this time as I recall, I was on my second or third tank of gas in my garden tractor snow pusher... haven't started the snow pusher tractor this snow season except to get it ready for the season a month ago by removing the mower deck and installing the plow blade and tire chains.  The sun still exists, right?  If so, I suspect that's why the pea-soup thick freezing fog gets brighter during the "day" than when the time pieces suggests it's night... right? (looking for a reality check and some hope).

Southerners are cute when it snows down here....  ::) Some reportedly wake up the kids in the middle of the night and drag them outside to see the mythical crystalline state of water, in their pickup truck headlights.  ::) It usually melts pretty soon after the sun comes out.

This time the snow stuck around a couple days. I had to use my water hose yesterday to clear my satellite dish and restore signal strength.

But nowadays even the yankees are naming "snowstorms", not just nor'easters and blizzards but plain vanilla snow storms.  ::)

Some in Atlanta area are still without power (last I heard). Their trees are not accustomed to heavy (wet) snowfall so the repair crews will earn their keep restoring power. Good luck to all our friends with infrastructure not accustomed to snow.

4 months ago we were hit by a hurricane, now this.

2 days ago it was in the 80's and I was wearing shorts.  :o

This is the 3rd time I can remember it snowing here in all my 63 years. Today, 2004 and sometime in the late '70's.
We call that a "dusting of snow" here.

It's sunny enough here in the PNW that I could hang laundry outside to dry this week. Still 34° in the shade, though.

34° in the shade down here in Australia too!
