DPA mic part numbers
« on: November 17, 2017, 08:50:41 PM »

I am trying to specify a DPA:fine mic.  Is there a place that decodes the DPA part numbers?  I see a page listing the options, and giving a whole list of part numbers but nothing to tell me which number goes with an omni, beige, T4F, dual ear mount with 110 mm boom?

Really shouldn't be hard to give a chart???  But it could be me.

Do we want the Legacy or the new Core?

New Core can handle more SPL before you reach 1% THD and is supposed to sound better.
I haven't had the chance to hear it yet.

I'm guessing you're talking about the d:fine slim capsule, not the 66 capsule on the "new" style headband with a TA4F connector?

That's part number DPA-FIOF102

They show multiple capsules-omni/directional, colors, boom lengths, single ear/2 ear headnband, etc.  In my day job I routinely build a part number with that many or more options to specify components for equipment.  Just can't find the guide/key to build the part number I want.

I didn't realize that when you say you want a d:fine there are at least 144 different possibilities.

Go to http://www.dpamicrophones.com/microphones/dfine/slim-omnidirectional-headset-microphone Select your options and it spits out a part number

I had been there-it kinda works now, but just refused to last evening.  It could be my browser (Chrome) or my internet connection.  I'll try an alternate broweser and connection later today.

I just went to have a quick look and it seems to be quite sensitive to any browser extensions you have running - especially if they're script-blockers - perhaps try disabling any of those you may have installed?
