What's wrong with these mics?
« on: November 08, 2017, 06:33:47 PM »

I've been watching this ebay auction for a week or so for a pair of AT4041 mics. They started out at $350 and then the prices was reduced to $315 and now the seller is taking offers. But I can't figure out why these haven't sold yet.

Can anyone see anything wrong with these mics? or suspicious in the sale?

AT4041s on eBay

I'm trying to resist the temptation to buy them, but it's like they are just calling me to pick them up.

I have 12 4041's, and they're awesome. FWIW, Sweetwater and other retailers had them on sale for around $375 a pair around this time last year. Maybe people expect that to happen again and perhaps it has something to do with that, or maybe not.

They're not the most well-known mics, but they're great. If you do pick them up, I'm sure you'll enjoy them.

Well, I guess someone else got them. That's alright since I already pissed the wife off by buying a new camera this week. So it's probably better that I missed out on them anyway.

If you're in trouble anyway, you might as well make the most of it.

Another camera to my collection would push it from 70 to 71.  She wouldn't notice!

Just a general observation as someone who has been selling some gear this year - it's definitely a buyer's market... I recently sold an AKG Rhythm Pack for less than 50% of what I paid for it earlier this year, and it was a bit of a challenge to sell it at that price.

I regularly see great stuff on here at really good prices and it just sits... a bit baffling.

Anyone have any thoughts on their predecessors, the AT4031?

well, some moron is selling a pair of Audix D4s with DVICE clips and the other mic clips and bidding is only $239 plus shipping..

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Pair-2-Audix-D4-Drum-Mics-w-2-DVICE-Mounts-Drums-Clamp-Never-Used/202104710555

FYI - that idiot would be me. I realized I'll never mic a full drum set for the times we play live when an OH over the shoulder works fine.
