on a side note I use a drive rack venue 360 - Im not sure how this will work with the Qu

It will work with the DR360 just like the analog console you were last using..

Since you have a DBX 360 take advantage of the AES input operating mode and use the AES out on the QU-16. That will save two digital conversion stages, digital to analog on the board output and analog to digital at the 360 input.

I use that set up with my QU-Pac.
You'll most likely find you like using the iPad more than the actual surface.

For an inexpensive good router I use a TP link Archer C7, only use 5g for your connection 2.4g is way too crowded.

I like it as it meets my needs for small bar band jobs.  It runs rather hot, so I may look into a laptop cooling pad or similar product to keep it running cooler.

Did you get one from the list of compatible drives? I came across a few that weren't usable

I have one that I formatted ok - now I’m trying to get the update on to the flash drive - it won’t open the zip file - it shows it as an executable

The QUs are a bit finicky about drives.  One word of caution I got burned by.  After doing a soundcheck for a show using the USB audio connection to the QU, I formatted a drive to record the show.  Somehow, formatting that drive broke the USB communications to the iMac(at least that's the only explanation I can come up with).  Rebooting the iMac fixed it.  Simple solution is to always format drives well ahead of time.
