I'm looking for a mixer with "On" instead of "Mute." I've only seen this on Yamaha mixers but I would like to find something cheaper if possible. Did Yamaha pioneer this reversal of the standard? It would seem that they were brave, but I really like it.
There is no "standard". It is what the silkscreened graphics say, and the perceived sophistication of likely operators. This is why some Yamaha products light-on = channel on and some light-on = channel mute.
I've been burned by this: 18 hour day on one Show A with PM5D where light-on =Mute =Off. Fly out. No sleep. New show. Show B. Another 18 hour day. M7CL. Light-on = Off. AND the color differences are orange v. red, not something universal like green v. red. Eeeesh! The only "standard" is there is no standard.
