Out of concern for Ampeg, mostly...

So... they are selling everything, changing the parent name only slightly, and keeping all the execs and work force.  Interesting.

That's typical language for the first acquisition/merger press release.

History tells us the folks with the money will call the shots and often bring in their own management team, after cleaning house.  Worth watching.

That is not the first rodeo for Mackie or Transom....

History tells us they will try to scrape more inefficiency (cost) out of the organizations, for better and worse.

Not pro-audio related, but Ampeg has seen a bit of renewed interest over the last few years and I hope they don’t mess with the big tube classics like the SVT-CL and V4B. I know, these big bass rigs are the bane of soundguys’ existence, but they sound so good.

If they dump Ampeg someone will pick up the brand in a heart beat. The true definition of what a bass rig should sound like.

Picking up the brand is one thing.
MAINTAINING the brand is a whole other issue.

I have one of those, too.

It doesn’t say quite that, but it does say “hello, my overgrown friend...)
