I think 10” is fine. Wonder if anyone is selling their DXR10s So far it seems to be the not too heavy, louder, not too expensive, rear mixer , 10” powered box.

So far only one gig on the new QSC K10.2 model. I didn't compare them to the legacy yet but they seemed clean, good enough for monitor duty on many of the gigs I do. One even became a harmonica amp with green bullet plugged into the instr input. I think I'll be using their speaker delay function throughout the year too.
It'd be interesting to shootout against the DXR10

I'd be interested, too.  I've been a long-time fan of QSC speakers, but the K-series never impressed me much.  The K10.2 would need to be noticeably better sounding than the DXR10, to me anyway, to justify the additional $100 and 6.6 lbs. per cab.

So, I am looking for a couple of smaller speakers. The picture in my head is QSC K10 sized.

I like the back panel on the original K12s but not so much the weight.

These would be for talking heads sorta things, small folk group settings or, over a sub, small party playback.

Likely will be looking for gently used.

What’s good out there?

Thanks

Just heard the LD Systems DDQ 10 and was impressed.  I’m thinking about grabbing a pair unless someone who has eperience doesn’t recommend them.

If you want something "small", don't rule out the QSC K8's.  They are still PLENTY loud, great build, and a terrific size with a decent low end response.

I have six of them I use for corporate events and I've been very pleased.  Also (and these other things may not matter to you) the K8's are flyable using "eyebolt" type rigging or (even better) you can buy the optional "yolk", add a pipe clamp, and fly them quickly and easily from a truss.  And finally, they will run off of any voltage from 100 - 240 VAC, 50 - 60 Hz!  All of these were considerations for me.

I own probably a dozen 12" cabinets, and a few 10" cabinets, but I use the K8's by far the most!

And if you steal this idea, they work great as monitors too!

Now you've got me wondering about the ETX-10P.  Anyone have experience with it?

I have a pair of Turbo IQ 8 for sale that I have never used. They are good sounding but I always use the 10's and 12's
