You can try a spring inside a tube.

Good idea and I had considered taking a click pen spring and cutting it down but it was matter of finding the right sized tube - and then it would have been fiddly keeping it all together. For what I paid for the little plastic adaptors I got online, I am good right now and they work and are quick to use.

You can buy a proper spiral shaped battery spring, larger and stronger than a click pen, on an electronic parts store for a few cents.

Debbie, any buyer's remorse since Carvin is going out of business?

I have once ordered a replacement battery box since the original broke. It wasn't expensive at the time. Order a replacement and modify that one...

I think that this wireless iem is some oem made in asia and not by carvin. I've seen it branded with different names.

Here are two examples:

Get whatever you need from Carvin NOW. They are closing their doors and everything is on liquidation sale.

Not at all - it is a good system and was a good price. Now, if I had purchased something more expensive, I'd be upset because of the warranty situation.
It is sad about Carvin. I used to live around the corner from the old location in San Diego and would pop in once in a while. I even owned a small Carvin PA which served me very well for a few years. I lived in Rancho Bernardo for anyone who lives in that area.

I ordered a replacement battery compartment just to be safe.

I ordered a spare battery compartment the other day and got the 25% discount. I had also ordered the rack mount at 25% discount when I got eh iem system so I should be in good shape.
I see today that the discount has gone down to 20% and the iem system I got isn't eligible anymore - not store wide anymore. Considering they are going out of business, I'm surprised they chose to reduce the discount benefits they were offering.
Maybe the brothers didn't agree again......

For future reference I think the Carvin is a rebadged JTS product, which is what we have. I have often ordered battery compartments etc.
The battery size is an issue here too. I have had to beat them in..
Spares should not be a problem.
