two bits to anyone who can decipher this...
« on: September 06, 2017, 04:41:18 PM »

Mike - move it to the basement if it is more appropriate there...

The words speak for themselves (kinda)  :-[

"By the way, I don’t know about anybody else’s 120 VAC extension cords, but my 120 VAC extension cords have the third wire ground protection extension only on one side of the female socket (the receiving end) – which is the power delivery end. The male plug (the power receiving end of the extension wire or the tool power cord) is not powered in conventionally wired homes, power plants and businesses." AEUHHH????

Upon finding the source for this with a Google search, I have to chalk it up to a text-generating bot that tries (and fails) to produce somewhat contextual content to gain the confidence of comment-allowing websites and forums so that it can come back and post spam later.

There is no way that the above text could have been intelligently generated by a human. If a human was that incapable of stringing words together in a comprehensible manner, the spelling would be atrocious too.

Lifted ground on the Male side? Thats about all I can decipher.

I'm not sure what he means by "not powered in conventionally wired homes, power plants and businesses."

Maybe it means that if you're holding the male end, there will not be power on the protruding terminals unless something's wired wrong.

I'm claiming those two bit(coin)s. I'll take it in USD if you prefer.

Well, if you think about it-have you ever tested the male end of an extension cord and found it energized?  Hopefully not.  Only the female ends should ever be energized.  So, if you randomly went around testing cord ends you should never find a powered male end.
