Behringer SD16 stage Box issue?
« on: September 12, 2017, 07:10:51 PM »

I have 2 of these running to a full size X32. Last night ch 1-16 Box stopped passing signals from all channels. The console saw the box, but the box had both AES50A and B lit up. Ch 17-32 Box only had the A light lit and worked fine.  If I unplugged the master Cat5 cable it 'snapped' back to normal operation. Happened twice during the night. Ideas?

Where is the power connected.  I have my S16 power coming from the same UPS as the X32.  That way I have maintained my star and power stability.  If you have your devices on stage stringers or building outlets, you might have ground loop issues, or power problems.  Also is the AES50 Ethernet cable shielded and ethercon connectors.

What kind of cable are you using?

Are you daisy chaining the boxes, or are you running a line back to the console from each?

Daisy chained. Cable is an install Cat5. Not sure what it is.

This, make sure you are using a shielded Cat cable then look at power issues.
