I'm going to try to use my iphone camera behind a welding helmet. Hopefully get a pic or two. I don't think the welding glass is strong enough for eyeball viewing though.
I'm sure you can look it up, but Welder's Glass #12 is strong enough to protect you.
(That's in the arc section, not gas-axe.)

Miller auto-darkening set to 12 or higher is one of the recommendations.

I made a quick pin hole projector by punching a pin hole in a piece of paper and projecting the eclipse image onto a second sheet a few inches behind.

Not a very large image but not bad for 93 million miles away.

Miller auto-darkening set to 12 or higher is one of the recommendations.

Harbor Fraught auto darkening helmet rigged to stay on via an IR emitter worked great. It was plenty dark enough set on 12-13. My iphone didn't work very well. The auto-exposure kept blowing out the image.

Got this through the helmet with a Canon 30d and vintage 35-105 zoom.

The sun returned as predicted, the human sacrifice was changed to grilled burgers which were quickly consumed. :D

That's a nice shot Tim.  I tried to make a pin hole camera but now all I have is a broken iPhone with a pin stuck in it  :-[

We got around 75% totality here, but I only got to see around 50% before a big cloud came over the sun. It was still pretty cool to see and I think the next one will hit us directly in Texas.

94% totality here.  Unfortunately, this morning's "Carolina Blue" skies clouded over and belched out torrents of rain off and on through the event.
