Eclipse on the 21st

This Nasa site shows where you can experience a full eclipse.   I did read the shadow moves at 1800mph.

My company is doing something in Oregon directly in the Total Eclipse path, but i'm on vacation so i'm missing it.

That being said...  I just realized that we're using ClearCom Eclipse FOR the Eclipse.  So that makes me happy!  :)

Of course do not stare at the sun without serious eye protection. (lots of counterfeit eclipse glasses sold).

Safest is to make a DIY pinhole camera...  just punch a tiny hole in some opaque material, and you can project an inverted image of the eclipse onto another piece of paper.

Another good way is to use a small mirror (eg 1 sq cm) and bounce the image onto a wall several metres away.  Only problem is the image won't stay still!  Damned rotation of the earth and all that...

Oh - I hadn't thought of that.  Comes on pretty quick!

I can only wonder what previous, "less advanced" civilizations did/thought when that happened...

Dunno about "less advanced", but we're preparing a human sacrifice just in case the sun is reluctant to return.  Originally we were planing a virgin sacrifice, but there seems to be a shortage virgins, along with a lack of Kansas volcanoes in which to cast them...

/satire, if you can't tell.

I'm going to try to use my iphone camera behind a welding helmet. Hopefully get a pic or two. I don't think the welding glass is strong enough for eyeball viewing though.
