<snip>
"ARTISTE requires a state-of-the-art Front-of-House System. Front-of House
System shall be a full range system with sub-woofers, capable of reproducing a
frequency response of
35Hz to 20Kh\+3db, have the capability of producing 117db\ (b-weighted) at the
FOH mix position..."

"B" weighting?  I haven't seen that in many years.

<snip>

A-Weighting rolls off low frequencies quite a bit.  Meeting a B-Weighting standard actually makes it easier to meet that number.  Lucky you!

I think it's more likely to lead to more problems.  When people up the workload with silly requests it distract from the real and immediate issues
Things on the rider can ALWAYS be crossed out and negotiated.

Realistically if someone is booking van halen, they can pay someone $30 to sort a couple bags of M+Ms if they decide not to negotiate that bit out of the agreement

Another swerve.  Anyone ever drop something on the floor and when you straighten up hit your head on the table supporting the mixer (or directly on the mixer itself) that had a built in spring reverb?
Yup. First mixer was a Yammi EM-70. 6 channel, all knobs, spring reverb.
In my case, it was someone dropping something on the table, beside the mixer.
Hint... Don't tap the mixer in time with the music.....
Chris.

I don't like the look of green gels on any human, but maybe that's just me :)

A reggae band from this summer had these gems:

"ARTISTE requires a state-of-the-art Front-of-House System. Front-of House

Pink Floyd uses green to good effect.

117db?  No problem.

I've worked with a couple of BEs who sang back up.

OK, so what is a "BE"?

Band Engineer.  The guy with the bus bunk hair that stands behind the FOH console.  Compare/contrast with BME, Band Monitor Engineer.

Did the chainsaw have an instrument level output?

It was a long time ago, but I seem to recall a Barcus Berry.

In the spirit of George Gobel's guitar, was it electric or gas?

[Cough, cough, hack, eccchh[, it was gas [cough], 2-stroke, in a small [hack] club. [Hack, ecccchhh, cough].

"Hospitality/Dressing Room Rider:
Assortment of Organic Fresh Fruit
6 Bottles Organic Juices
6 pack Guiness
6 pack Red Stripe
Two cases of Bottle Spring Water not filtered Water
Meals: Preferable Food Buyout $120 per diem.
In case of no buyout: Fish, Chicken and
Vegetarian(Vegan)"

That's not all that odd.  BTW I can't drink Aquafina or Denali filtered waters either.   Spring water only, preferably fiji.

Picky eater/drinker another word for pain in the ass.

Postcards of local interest with postage affixed to UK.

Another one had this as the entire food and beverage section:
Strawberry fruit roll-ups
Flintstone vitamins
2 cases bottled water.
