Say It Ain't So
« on: June 28, 2017, 09:27:14 AM »

I just read that the Lexar brand is going to be leaving this world.  I've grown rather fond of their thumb drives as they seem to be a brand that I can use across all lines of consoles and they just always work.  Fortunately, I purchased a dozen of them a few years back so I've got years and years of storage ahead of me.

Why couldn't it be PNY instead? 2 card "crashes" in a year, both PNY.

10 years ago at my day job with (Round Rock, TX-based computer manufacturer that may or may not rhyme with "swell"), PNY DIMMs routinely failed our reliability testing.  I recently took a chance on some SD cards that were on sale, thinking they'd surely gotten their feces together since then, otherwise they wouldn't still be in business.  I was wrong.
