JBL Warranty - send to them or look local for repair?
« on: June 10, 2017, 12:40:28 AM »

Hi Everybody.
One of my JBL EONs needs repair.  It's still under warranty but from what I've read there's some discretion as to whether or not specific issues are covered.  It SOUNDS like a mechanical issue with the low end driver - which should be covered - but it's hard to be certain without opening it up.  My question is this:

Will I be more likely to have a repair covered under warranty if I ship it back to JBL, or have a local authorized shop look at it?

I’m leaning toward shipping it to JBL since I’m having a hard time finding a repair center near me – which kinda surprises me since I live just north of Philadelphia which is a pretty big city.

I forgot to add this if possible, local is *usually* better, as you can deal direct with the techs.

However, I just had a customer who took his Crown amp to a local "service" shop and they were horrible.  Your mileage may vary.
