I'm not sure what this has to do with our product choice but I find Global truss to be difficult to use, the lacing braces do not line up correctly end to end and their spacing means many moving lights with half-coupler clamps can only be mounted in specific places.

If you can recoup a truss purchase in 5 rentals you have better paying clients than we have.

Rereading that I was less than clear.

1 - I was quoting your post and addressing Nathan
2 - The 30% is the premium of the Tomcat over buying the Global
3 - The 5 rental criteria is doing 5 jobs and cross renting the gear from another shop.  If you cover your costs and labor then it is time to start talking about buying it.

My intention was to stir the thinking that the funds are best left for working capital instead of being tied up in steel and aluminum that he hasn't needed much to date.

And you make a good point. While I could utilize two hand lifts immediately and I know I could do it safely. I'm not 100% certain it would be advisable given insurance and the difficulties of having to assess the structure for load capabilities.

I'm leaning toward the work lifters WT 150 from my other thread.

Cool....When you talk to the distributor see what he will do for four.

Mike Pyle had some lifts he was trying to move.  I would ping him to.

Frankly I am maxed out for the next three weeks but if you get any deals let me know.  I posted this in public as someone else may benefit or want to get in on it.

Will do, good idea. Thanks!

Part of my jump down the chain hoist path might have been because they are so well priced on Amazon right now. 1T -20+lift for less than $200 (I assume pricing error, because the 22ft drop lifts are $500+).

I may just snag two just because they are cheap and I might find use with them in the future (who knows)...
