For those of you who followed my posts on trying to get the Ubiquity Bullet to work reliably, I can announce the problem solved.
As per some suggestions, I bought a used Netgear N600 "router" for $40 and with only a couple of minutes effort now have a reliable , cross console solution for iPad remote control in 2.4 and 5 gig bands.
The Bullet, and  Airport Express are lounging in landfill somewhere and shows that sometimes the fancy, high cost tool is not necessarily the best option.
An expensive lesson.
