Looking for super simple PC based controller software
« on: May 10, 2017, 11:05:41 AM »

We have a client running a handful of LEDs and conventional lecos on a loaner NSI dmx console. They have a laptop that they want to use but Titan mobile and the equivalent are beyond the scope of what they can handle in house. Is there a solution out there that will look similar enough to what they are using now to help with the transition?

Thanks,
Bob

Hi Bob, have you taken a look at DMXIS?  While it has its limitations it's a very simple interface that isn't intimidating or difficult to approach.  Also, assuming that your NSI board is one of the 2-scene A/B-style consoles this software should look at least a little bit familiar.  There are several users here that can give you a more detailed insight than I can if you have specific questions, but I think this might be right along the lines of what you're looking for.  Freestyler and ShowXpress also come to mind here, but present a different flavor of programming that might not be quite what you want.  Hope this helps!

I am a D-Pro user which is the big brother to DMXIS. I don't know the console you listed, but I can answer questions about this software if it is of interest.

How many fixtures total?

the Jands StageCL sounds like it may be perfect for you. Not a PC based console, but super simple learning curve. Alternatively if you really want to go pc based, Jands Vista is pretty straight forward and pretty new user friendly.

Also, is there a budget for this?
