Found a new use for Gaff tape
« on: April 25, 2017, 01:31:07 PM »

It takes gum off the bottom of your shoe!

A better use would be to stick it over the guys mouth that spit it out on the floor of a conference room.

Speaking of gaffer (s) tape.... Is anyone else finding that the quality these days doesn't seem to be as good as it used to be?
I find the quality from brand to brand to vary quite considerably. Some leave a residue if left in place for a few hours - especially in warm weather and it doesn't seem as strong as it should be. I must admit, I grab a roll when I see it at a good price so this could be the root of my problem - buying lesser brands.

I think this is the corollary to "buy once, cry once" of equipment purchase:
Buy consistently, cry consistently.

I get ProGaffer from www.thetapeworks.com

It seems to be consistent in both thickness and adhesion.  I've had it leave residue when applied for weeks or in very hot circumstances but not in typical uses.  About $14/2"x55yd roll.  I remember when they were 60 yards long...
