Monitor Chocks
« on: April 24, 2017, 01:23:40 PM »

I just did a Kirtan show Sunday and needed some acoustic shims.
I went looking all over the venue for something I could use, then realized I had some lovely rubber wheel chocks for my truck, in my truck.
They worked fantastic!  Black, discreet, plenty of traction, they even have handles.

Yeah I couldn't use them Saturday because of the hill.

I've always used a spare DI when I run out of acoustic compensators.

If you run out of audio logs, you can make one out of just about anything covered in gaff.

And all these years, I have been trimming singers starting at the ankles.

Never thought to raise the wedge.

Never got many requests for other changes after that either.

I've used these for years. They're perfect for monitors and guitar amps:

Or you could take a chunk of 4x4 and cut a block with a 45 on one side. I made a bunch of these years ago and use them for chocking duties among other things. Much cheaper this way.
