Working in a theatre with a waves soundgrid server, a Mac, and Y16 card. I have my own Macbook with a much bigger suite of plug-ins and would like to utilize it. The soundgrid server and Y16 card need firmware updates to work with my personal Macbook. I am afraid if I do this it will render the I/O hardware incompatible with the soundgrid software of the house computer. Is there an easy way to switch back to the original firmware when I leave? Updating the soundgrid software on the house computer is not an option.
Also, there is no Internet at the venue but my Macbook still displays the firmware update button. Does soundgrid not need internet connectivity to do firmware updates?
