How do you terminate it to BNC?  The center conductor is 0.108 inches...

You buy the correct size BNC  :o

Any BNC sized for LMR400 or Belden 9913 will work.

All my admittedly minimal RF work has been with PL259 or N connectors on more conventional lossy cables or very un-lossy Heliax.  Thanks for pointing me in the right direction, Henry!

How about an SMA for that 2 7/8" Heliax?  ;D

Most of the transmission line work I did was with smaller diameters.  I think the last tower build I was on we hung 1 5/8".

That SMA would be an interesting adapter or terminal for sure.

PL259 ?  Isn't that something used on a CB radio? It's a UHF connector.

Remember all the washers and crap for solder N connectors.  Every time I watch someone crimp an N I wish I could get back the years of my life from making jumpers for 800Mhz trunked system combiners.

I also vividly remember hanging off a tower in a crappy waist belt with a but strap tapping the centerpin in some LDF or air line.  I used to have a capstan on the bumper of an old blazer.  My girlfriend new how to tie half hitches for load lines and tags.  I would climb with the rope, rig up a pulley above me then she would winch up the load on the capstan and tag the load off the tower.  That was one tough lady.
