Need ip rated outdoor wireless speakers
« on: April 04, 2017, 12:12:16 AM »

I am working on a park project that basically wants distributed audio throughout the park on several light poles. There is a power outlet at each pole but no good way to run speaker wire. Are there any wireless active speakers that may be right for this solution? Most positions are <500' from control room with nice clear lines of site

Old school "carrier current" broadcasting?  Also make sure the power available is 120v, not 277v. (don't ask how I know).

Powersoft DEVA speakers may work, they are designed for these types of applications.

Not sure about all-in-one products, but you could mount a properly-rated enclosure with an amp and receiver and use one of the many passive speakers available in the weatherproof market.

Your electricians can also install a small step-down transformer in it's own box too if the light power is 277V or higher as Tim mentioned.

Is it mission critical - enough to spend a chunk of money on? If so:

plus a rated powered speaker or the Technomad amplifier mentioned previously.

Thanks guys. There is a light and a 120v standard gfi on each post. Figuring the electrician would wire us a box at the top of the pole off that circuit.
I'll check those products.
Thanks!
