One of our associated hotels is looking for a small PA system to do small rooms for meetings. 40 -60 ppl. I've recommended DSR112's and an XR12 for their larger space but have no idea what to get that's smaller, less money and more portable for the smaller rooms.

Also, is the DSR112/XR12 combo a good choice for a 1-200 person meeting or is that overkill? The AV duties are being handled by the IT dept. They have no sound experience but I will be going there to set it up and "train" them.

Unless you need the output of the DSR112, the DXR10 is half the weight, size, and price and is more than capable for speech and light music.

For single mic + playback options, the Allen&Heath Zed-10 is a nice product with an internal power supply for $200.  I'd rather have that than dealing with a tablet-based system, but maybe all the knobs are more scary to the tablet generation.

The IT guys there have a hard on for anything they can control from their phone. That's why I suggested the XR12.

DXR10 looks like a better choice. Half the price and lighter is a good thing.
