Many people think that a Hyper cardioid mic has more rear rejection.  It does off to the sides of the rear-but there is actually a peak directly behind it-not good for a single monitor position.

Yup, it's seldom mentioned that hypercardioid is (often) the last pattern before you get all the way to figure-eight.

It's a figure 8 with asymmetrical loops...  :)

A great heaping bowl of "Not Good".

Every observable choice in gear looks compromised/off-price. Doesn't bode well for the aggregate result..

I realize the work isn't complete but what I see and what I presume is left to be done doesn't give me a warm, fuzzy feeling about the way this room will sound, either empty or with an active crowd in it.

Why do architects let clients build spaces like these?  Hey, I know that the client is who pays for the thing but it's the job of a professional to guide the client away from doing Really Stupid Shit.

Running some shotgun calculations for 90 x 40 coverage on a 50' x 50' room, the critical distance at 2khz (1sec) is:

17' for 10' ceiling
21' for 15' ceiling
25' for 20' ceiling

If you change the room to 50' deep x 40' wide:

15'
19'
22'

Ceiling height is likely the critical variable in the equation.
That ceiling looks too low for decent sound...IS too low.
Add the likely 120 (overlapping) horizontal spew from those speakers and I'd reiterate my initial post: uh-oh...

Looks like a "vocal only" PA might be the best bet.

Edit:  calculations are independent of stage wash into the room.  Further discounts thus apply.

I'm also questioning why the analog monitor rig...  this screams "sell them whatever we have left in the back room from 6 years ago".

Vendor could well be one of the on-line "establishments", either E-bay or CraigsList.

Not to mention mixing an analog board from the side of the stage.
