My suggestion as well. With the recent price reduction, you can get a X18 for $450.00.  You will get more inputs, and a bunch of other features as well.  Best of all, it will simply work when you turn it on.

And the best part is that it's backed by Behringer's incredible track record for reliability and local support. LMFAO

UI -24 is rocking my world these days- which doesn’t help the OP 1 iota...    Facebook ping Danny Olesh.  He’s generally very responsive. Most of the UI community seems to happen up there.

As far as the X Air is concerned... do an AB with a UI-24. The X-Air doesn’t measure up in terms of sound quality.  Not even close...  for $800 street, the Ui-24 is amazing.

If at NAMM they introduce a method for linking 2 Ui-24’s or 1ui-24 with the msb 32x12... my SI 3 is outta here...

I'm not sure what a 32 channel stage box will do for you.
The Ui24 IS a stage box, and will only mix 24 channels.

Ui 24r is a web server.  And so if there is processor power is extensible...  24 or 56 in, 10 or 22 out is more a matter of...
A. Hardware compatibility
B. Ui design

If there is processor power... and of course if the hardware will allow Madi...  really I could live with linked 24r’s and 48 by 18 or 20...  I would off my si3 and msb for that.  The ui-24 is that good.

I agree. The Ui16 I own makes a fine companion to my Performer when needed for smaller jobs. It's never let me down, never had an issue, sounds great, is flexible, and the one time I needed support I called Soundcraft and they answered my question right away. Better yet is the local service center if needed, support for legacy products, parts and manuals. So much better than sending your board to Nevada or reading the boiler plate response from some Behringer rep on a web site. So yes, I agree with you.

My point remains.

Agreed. The Ui series is what it is, a low entry level board designed for small bands, coffee houses, talking heads and that sort of thing. If you want extended channel counts then you've bought the wrong board and it's time to move up to the Si or Vi series.

I own an SI1, an SI3 and msb 32x12 ...  The UI-24r is an amazing piece of kit...  not really sure how anyone one outside of Soundcraft would know the actual power of the processor in a ui-24  ... that would make it difficult to predict it’s capabilities with any degree of reliability.
