LED equivalent to NJD Spectre?
« on: November 30, 2016, 03:25:42 PM »

Hi
Our band has been using a pair of NJD Spectre floods for years and they do great job.
Bulbs are a little pricey though and they need a seperate 13amp circuit
as together they draw 3000 watts at full power. Each Spectre uses 3x500w
bulbs.
Just wondering if there's a single LED flood/wash/colour changer that would put out the equivalent amount of light as a Spectre.
Would something like this Chauvet do?
It's around the same price.

Any help appreciated.

No one?
No probs.
I think the Chauvet or the ADJ Hex 12P should be ok.

Just as a follow up in case anybody's looking for a similar lighting setup.
I've done some research and the best value single unit that I think may match the NJD Spectre for brightness is the ADJ 12P Hex.
It has 12 12 watt 6-1 LEDs and is RGBAW+UV so I'm hoping to be able to achieve a nice white rather than just
RGB full on.

I'd opt for something along the lines of the Chauvet SlimPar Pro instead for the reasons mentioned here and here.  If nothing else, the SlimPar Pro will give you silent operation and Edison output for a similar price.

Thanks for the reply.
Fan noise isn't an issue really as they're for live band use.
Remote control is important though and I like the idea of the RF remote for the ADJ 12p Hex as it doesn't rely on line of sight for operation.

I don't think that there's anyway of dimming the light using the remote control though.
This would be useful for breaks.
I have 4 ADJ Mega TriPar Profiles and RGB dimming/mixing is possible
with the remote so would have thought the 12P Hex being more expensive
would have the facility.
