Are you saying that's USED beer? (shudder)

When did our country become such unrestrained animals?  Both situations are so terribly sad. And the worst part, if  those roadcases and the line array were to injure someone, the festival/sound provider would likely be sued.
Is it really that bad in the world these days?

I thought if you are in the act of committing a crime you the concept of civil liability and negligence is waived.

Down here in Florida I'd say 3/5 of the freelancers I know would have had a piece in their bag. Not to condone cowboy behavior, but I doubt anyone would get near my LD...

So the inference here is that someone on the crew might pull a firearm out in a situation like this? :o
And that would help exactly how?
A person could be shot and wounded, or killed, over $30,000 worth of equipment?!?!
That just doesn't add up in my Canadian brain.

That said, it does burn my a$$ when crowds do stupid crap like this.

You can't use deadly force to protect property.  Only yourself.  Those less than well behaved folks did not appear to be threatening any humans.

That's... - well... - just heartbreaking.

I don't understand their behavior. It doesn't prove a point. It doesn't accomplish anything in their favor. Either a settlement is made between production/band or production/insurance. All it does is hurt the band they like and the production company that had nothing to do with the no-show.

According to the news article the Ortiz band did show up, just Ortiz himself didn't. I can't fathom why someone would get so mad over a single person not showing. Its a juvenile act of defiance that ultimately results in accomplishing nothing in their favor.

Does anything feel staged in that video?  The calmness of security, lack of cables.  Something doesn't feel right.

You've got a point there.  The folks throwing things don't look all that angry.  Lost is more like it.  Like they're not sure what to do.  But occasionally it means grabbing something and throwing it.

Who was it that said "There's no such thing as bad publicity"?

+1 but that's a big can of worms that we probably aren't allowed to open.

Yeah, I said I in no way condone adding firearms into the equation, in fact i was saying the opposite. It makes me concerned about what could happen.
Also, it appeared people were going backstage and on stage. Seems they would have to physically threaten staff to get past them and on stage. That's more the scenario I'm imagining. Not a tech hunkered down backstage shooting at people.
